Augusta has always been a music city

From church choirs and jazz stages to front porches, festivals, and songwriter circles, music has long been part of the heartbeat of this community.

That’s why I’m especially proud that Growing Augusta: Arts, Agriculture, & Agency is serving as the Title Sponsor of the Augusta Music & Songwriter Festival, happening May 15–16 at the Augusta Common, in partnership with the Greater Augusta Arts Council.

For me, this festival represents something bigger than a weekend of great performances. It’s a reminder that arts and culture are essential to how cities grow, connect, and thrive.

When we invest in music and the creative community, we’re not just supporting artists.

We’re strengthening our creative economy.

We’re creating spaces where people gather.

And we’re showing the next generation that creativity has a place in Augusta.

The lineup already includes incredible talent:

🎤 Big K.R.I.T.

🎤 Anthony David

🎤 Shawn Mullins

🎤 Angie Aparo

🎤 Trap Jazz

🎤 Felly the Voice

🎤 Elli Perry

…and more artists will be announced soon.

Two days of music.

Multiple genres.

One stage for Augusta’s creative spirit.

I hope you’ll join us downtown at the Augusta Common and help us continue building a city where artists are valued, creativity is visible, and culture brings us together.
