Georgia Ag Week 2026: Celebrating the Industry That Feeds, Fuels, and Sustains Us

March 23–29, 2026, has officially been designated as Georgia Ag Week, and it is a timely reminder that agriculture is not just a rural issue or a seasonal conversation. It is a daily part of how we live, eat, build, heal, and thrive.

Recently, Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J. Harper announced this year’s observance, calling attention to agriculture as Georgia’s No. 1 industry and recognizing the farmers, ranchers, foresters, and producers whose work sustains communities across the state. He described agriculture as “the backbone of our state’s economy” and “the bridge that connects Urban and Rural Georgia together as one.”

That message resonates deeply with us at Growing Augusta.

Here in Augusta, we know agriculture is bigger than fields and farm gates. Agriculture shows up in neighborhood gardens, farmers markets, food access efforts, edible landscaping, youth education, local entrepreneurship, and the value-added products created by small producers across our region. It is present in the food on our tables, the fiber in our clothing, the fuel that powers industry, the flowers that mark our celebrations, and the forestry products that help build our homes and communities.

Georgia Ag Week gives all of us a chance to celebrate that full picture.

As part of this statewide observance, the Growing Augusta team will host a display at the Georgia State Visitor Center in Augusta from March 23–27, spotlighting Georgia Grown products and services offered by our local agricultural partners. This display is an opportunity to lift up the incredible work happening right here in our corner of the state and to help residents and visitors alike better understand the strength, diversity, and creativity of Georgia agriculture.

We are especially excited to use this moment to highlight the local farms, growers, makers, and ag-centered businesses who are helping shape a stronger regional economy. From fresh produce and specialty goods to educational services and community-based agricultural projects, our local partners are proving every day that agriculture remains one of the most important pathways to health, opportunity, and resilience.

If you are a farmer, grower, or producer and would like to have your farm’s products included in the display, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us at kgordon@growingaugusta.org.

Georgia Ag Week is more than a celebration. It is also an invitation — to recognize the people behind our food and natural resources, to support Georgia Grown, and to better understand the role agriculture plays in connecting urban and rural communities alike.

At Growing Augusta, we are proud to be part of that story.
