Spring into Action: May Highlights and Ways to Get Involved
As the days stretch longer and the sun warms our gardens, May invites us to deepen our commitment to growing food, building community, and celebrating our local roots. Across the region, we see the fruits of our collective labor—planting seeds for the future while nurturing the spaces and relationships that sustain us.
Let’s pause to honor the progress we’ve made—and look ahead to the opportunities blooming this month!
April: A Month of Earth Day Action & New Milestones
April was a time of growth, advocacy, and community connection:
✅ Flag Flown Over the United States Capitol – A powerful symbol of recognition, flown at the request of Congressman Rick W. Allen to commemorate 2025 as The Year of Agriculture in Augusta.
✅ Congressional Appropriations Requests Submitted – We submitted key proposals to Senators Ossoff and Warnock, advocating for funding and support of urban agriculture policies that prioritize food access, land stewardship, and community resilience in Augusta and across Georgia.
✅ Rooted in Nature Summer Camp – Registration is still open. Parents may use code CAMP25 at checkout for discount. Sponsorship packages are available as well. Thank you for investing in the next generation of growers.
